Chris Smith is an organizational change, culture management, and leadership development executive with 20 years of experience. As the founder of ChangeSmith, he helps leaders to enable a better professional experience for people. Mr. Smith is a trusted advisor to executives and the C-suite, most frequently leveraging his experience as a consultant and facilitator to educate, coach, model, and encourage the behaviors that help organizations pursue their purpose and achieve their desired outcomes.
Prior to starting ChangeSmith in 2015, Mr. Smith served in various Organizational Strategy, Transformation, and Performance Management leadership positions at professional services firms including Booz Allen Hamilton, BearingPoint, and PwC. He is a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), a LaMarsh Master of Managed Change, and a Project Management Professional (PMP). Mr. Smith is also a certified Everything DiSC Assessment professional.
Mr. Smith graduated with liberal arts degree in History from Williams College where he was also a member of the 1995 NCAA Mens Soccer National Champions. He earned his Masters Degree with highest distinction in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia's School of Engineering & Applied Science and the Darden School of Business, and a Change Management Advanced Practitioner (CMAP) master's level certificate from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He serves on the board of the Washington, DC chapter of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP), and is a professional member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the McLean Business Forum (MBF). Mr. Smith is a member of the Leadership Arlington Class of 2018. Mr. Smith chairs the board of the Juliet Grace Smith Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization purposed to improve the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience for preemies and their families. He and his family reside in Arlington, VA.
